Do I need a RFID card to charge my EV?
You do not need a charge card to charge your EV. You can pay-as-you-go with a contactless card at selected charge points. By scanning a QR code on the charge point, you can set up a one-time payment transaction. Be aware that not all charge points allow for ad hoc charging or contactless payments. We strongly recommend using the Shell Recharge card and app, not only does it give access to every charge point in the network but it also provides many other benefits. You can see tariffs upfront and even take advantage of more competitive rates for DC charging. You can also keep track of your charging history. And don’t forget that with contactless payments, you won’t be able to see live updates on your charging status or receive a payment receipt.
