Using the Shell Recharge app, you can find, access, and pay at more than 700,000 public charging points across the UK and Europe. Using the navigator features, drivers can simply locate stations, filter the type of charger, connector type and power. Find a public charging station that's available, near you, and ready for use. Public charging has never been easier.
How does the Shell Recharge app work?
With the Shell Recharge app and charge card, you can charge carefree and on-the-go. It gives you access to the large public Shell Recharge charging network.
The app will use your location information to find convenient charge points, based on your criteria. Just use the filters to select exactly what you need, be that fast charging, or chargers with a Type 2 connector.
Drivers can also order their charge card, enjoy straight forward payment, check both charging tariffs and status, and get real time notifications, all through the app. You can also do all your charge card and account management through the Shell Recharge app.

It will arrive in 5 working days, once it does, activate it in the app and you’re ready!

Our first piece of advice is to download the Shell Recharge app and order your charge card, if you haven’t already. The best way to prepare is planning your journey through the app. Our app, especially designed for electric car charging points, will provide you with real-time information, so check availability as you get nearer to the charge point. If a green checkmark icon is shown, this means the charge point is available.
The Route Planner app feature can minimise range anxiety and ensure you don't run out of battery during your journey. It will use your EVs battery data to plan a route, including the best places to stop and charge. You can apply filters too, so if you wish to use a certain speed or you wish to charge at Shell so you can take advantage of the services, make sure to add that to the criteria. You can then easily export this journey to your preferred map app with just a few clicks. Never check whilst driving, make sure to pull over if you don’t have a passenger at hand to check. You can also star your favourite or most convenient charge points, for even easier journey planning.
