When can I start charging with a digital card?
Starting and stopping a charge using the Shell Recharge app is currently not available at Shell Recharge forecourt and destinations sites (e.g Waitrose and Aldi) and partner locations for Shell Recharge customers. For now, the quickest and most convenient way to pay for your Shell Recharge session is by tapping your contactless bank card on the charger. We accept all major credit cards, except for American Express. If you already have a physical charge card/key fob, you can continue to use it to activate the charge point. Shell Fleet Solutions customers are not impacted.
Start and stop charging continues to work at Shell Recharge on-street (lamppost/bollards) locations.
The price per kWh you will pay when using your contactless bank card is the same as if you charged using the Shell Recharge app or via charge card
