What is 3-phase charging?
3-phase charging refers to the use of three alternating current (AC) circuits to charge an EV. This type of charging uses a higher voltage and more power than 1-phase charging, which is why it is often considered faster and more efficient.
A 3-phase connection is needed for EV fleets, commercial and public EV charging stations, where multiple vehicles need to be charged simultaneously or when charging needs to be done quickly. In other words, 3-phase charging is perfect when charging demand is high.
