Before you begin
Make sure you have the following information to hand:The serial number of your charge point
Your lease charge card or charge card number, which you received from your leasing company or employer
The activation email from Shell Recharge with the link to your account
The electricity rate per kWh at home, which you can request from your energy supplier
Your private bank account number where you want to receive the reimbursement of electricity costs
Roadmap
1. Write down the serial number of your charge point
Your charge point has a sticker with the serial number on it. Make a note of the serial number as you will need it for activation.
2. Log in to account.shellrecharge.com
When visiting account.shellrecharge.com, please use Google Chrome, Safari or Firefox as your browser. The platform does not work optimally in Internet Explorer.
Note: Your charge point is linked to an account created by your employer or leasing company. Please check your personal and professional email accounts for an activation message and activate your account. If you have not received an activation notice, please contact us. You cannot create your own account for an existing charge point.
3. In the menu, navigate to Charging stations.
4. Click on Add charge point
5. Enter the serial number and click Next
The type of charge point will now appear on your screen. Click Next again.
6. Give your charge point a name and enter the address of your charge point
Click on Next.
7. Confirm your subscription
Your employer or leasing company has already set up your subscription for you, confirm with next.
8. Guest use
Select the option disabled so that your charge point remains private.
9. Charging access
For extra security: Choose the option Charging with your charge card if you only want people to be able to charge at your charge point with the charge cards you select. We recommend using this if your charge point is in a location that is easily accessible to third parties.
For added convenience: Choose the Plug & Charge option if you want everyone to be able to access your charge point without having to swipe your charge card past the charge point. This means that all charging sessions will be linked to your own charging card. We recommend using this only if you have control over who has access to your charge point.
Next, enter the number of your lease charge card.
Note: Only add your lease charge card and no other charge cards you may have.
10. Set up reimbursement for electricity costs.
If your employer reimburses your charging costs, set the Reimbursed electricity costs slider open next to your lease charge card.
11. Provide your electricity rate
Get the electricity rate from your energy supplier and enter it. If you use day and night electricity, take the average of these amounts.
12. Account number for charge reimbursement
Enter here the account number to which you would like your charge reimbursement to be returned. Select your account number or choose New bank account, enter your details and click save and continue.
13. Confirm your settings
Check and confirm the settings and click on confirm & save to complete the configuration.
Do you still want to change settings later? Navigate to Charging stations in the menu and click on Settings at the relevant charging point.
