Getting set up - install & activate
How do I activate my charge card and charge point?
1. Download the Shell Recharge app and log in or create an account.
2. Activate the charge card or key fob:
Which charge card or key fob to use?
If you are a lease driver and your charging costs are paid by your employer, use the charge card or key fob provided by your lease company. If you have not received a charge card from your lease company, please contact them about this.
If you are not a lease customer or want to start charging right away, you can use a personal charge card or request one for free via the Shell Recharge app. You will immediately receive a digital charge card with which you can configure your account. Please note that charging costs will not be reimbursed via the personal card.
If you already have an account:

Log in, go to Account > Charge cards.

Add charge card to your account.

Scan the card or fill in the number on the charge card manually. It will look something like AB-CDE-012345-6. This number could also be on the backside of your card.
If you just created an account:

Choose ‘I already have a charge card’ to activate it. Scan the card or fill in the number on the charge card manually.

If you don’t have a charge card yet, you can simply skip this step for now. You need to add a payment method if you plan to charge on the go (for business lease drivers it could be covered by your employer).
3. Activate the charge point:
a. Add your charge point:

Go to “Charge Point” in the menu.

Click the “Activate Charge Point” button.

You can enter the charge point serial number. This enables us to identify your model. You can find your serial number on your invoice or on the right side of the charge point.

Please enter your address and give the charge point a memorable name.
b. Activate your subscription:

You can confirm the subscription. It will be visible at this step if you had purchased it. If your charge point is provided by your lease company, the subscription is automatically included. If there is no subscription pending for you to confirm, please contact customerservice@shellrecharge.com.

If you are not a lease driver and you do not have a subscription, head to your online account to purchase one.
c. Set automatic cost reimbursement if you are eligible for reimbursement:

Set the electricity tariff.

Select or confirm charge card you want to reimburse the charging sessions for.

Select or add bank account where you want the money to be paid back to.
To activate your charge point via the online account, you need to follow these steps:
1. Create or log into account.shellrecharge.com

- Once you log in, go to Account and tap on ‘Charge cards'. In the top navigation bar you will find the 'Charge Cards' section.
- Click 'Add charge card'.
- Fill in the card details. Fill in the number on the charge card, it will look something like AB-CDE-012345-6. This number could also be on the backside of your card. Give the card a clear name and click 'Next'.
- Choose between private or public charging.
- Fill in your personal details. Add your bank account, address and click 'Confirm and save'.
3. Activate the charge point:
a. Add your charge point:

Follow the next steps such as charge card access, reimbursement, etc and save your preference.

Once you have added the charge point online, it will also be visible in the Shell Recharge app.

Activating Connect
Activation and onboarding is easy with the " Connect by Shell Recharge '' app.
Once you have downloaded the app, you will be prompted to activate your charge point by adding the ID-CODE. You can find this on the pamphlet that is in the box. Once you have activated it, you can connect your charge point to Bluetooth. Stand close to your charge point whilst you enable the connection.
To add your charge point:
- Go to “Charge Points” in the menu
- Click the “Add Charge Point” button
- You will be asked to enter the charge point serial number. This enables us to identify your model. You can find your serial number on your invoice or on the right side of the charge point.
- Once you have added the charge point online, it will also be visible in the Shell Recharge app.
