What's the cost of charging my EV at public stations?

The costs of public charging vary. We partner with many different charge point operators to grow and maintain our charging network. To be able to offer you a seamless charging experience throughout the Shell Recharge network, we provide 

1. Access to a roaming network, for which we charge a transaction fee of £0.35 per successful charging session (with a maximum of £7 per month). 

2. You will not pay a transaction fee when charging at Shell Recharge operated charge points that use the Shell Recharge app as a payment method (includes forecourts, Waitrose and selected Aldi* destination sites). You will also not pay a transaction fee if you choose to pay "ad hoc" with a contactless payment method.

• Aldi Holliers Walk: Hollier's Walk, Hinckley LE10 1QW, Leicester

**For contactless credit and debit card transactions, a pre-authorisation amount of £55 will be charged by your bank to ensure it’s available for you to pay with. If you have mobile banking, you may see this amount pop up. When you finish charging, we tell your bank the real amount you spent, they deduct it, and arrange to unreserve the pre-authorised amount. This process can take a few minutes to a few days depending on who you bank with.
