What is guest usage?

Guest usage is an option available only when your charge point has an RFID card reader and with our Plus subscription.

The feature enables you to manage who can access your charge point through guest usage. You can set access either to public (open to all), or provide access to certain charge cards. By adding specific card numbers to your account you can grant them access to charge. The RFID user authentication technology will only permit those registered cards to charge.

If you choose to set guest usage to public, you will need to publish your charge point. This means your charge point would be visible in our app and on the map , and becomes a part of the Shell Recharge public charging network.
