What is a charge point?
Shell Recharge defines charge points as an outlet where an EV can be charged by one customer at a time. Shell Recharge counts the number of charge points in its charging network by using the definition of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipments ("EVSE").
An EVSE can have multiple types of connectors (CHAdeMO, Type 2, CCS, etc.) but charges only one car at a time. This assumes one charge point is equal to one EVSE.
Whilst Shell take transparency seriously striving to provide the most accurate reporting, when communicating data from our roaming network Shell cannot vet the reliability of the data from third party providers
