Do Shell Recharge charge points charge at 7.4 kW or 22 kW?

In theory, all of our charge points have the potential to charge ar speeds of up to 22 kW. The hardware allows for it, but in order to enable this speed, you need a three-phase connection.

Almost all  homes in the UK have single-phase grid connections which only enable speeds of 7.4 kW. 7.4 kW power is sufficient for most home charging needs, allowing you to charge a medium size battery in 5-6 hours. This is great for home charging, as most charging takes place when your car is parked for longer periods of time, e.g. overnight.
